Regent Park Community Safety Certificate Training Series

The Regent Park Safety Network, in collaboration with the Centre of Learning & Development and Mothers of Peace, are hosting a free safety certificate training series to Regent Park residents. The training aims to:

  • Increase capacity of TCH residents to respond to crisis in their community
  • Increase TCH residents’ confidence in actively participating in Regent Park, providing support in the community, and becoming local champions

The training focuses on three main areas; TCH Resident Leadership, TCH Resident Advocacy, and Mental Health & Crisis training:

TCH Resident Leadership

  • Speaking with Confidence (May 2021 and Fall 2021)
  • Chairing and Leading a Meeting (July 2021)

TCH Resident Advocacy

  • Advocacy Training (August 2021)
    • Deputations (Police Services Board, TCH)
    • City Hall
    • Local Level

Mental Health & Crisis (Fall 2021)

  • Community Emergency Planning
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Youth Mental Health
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Community Trauma De-escalation
  • Violence Risk Planning
